At Machinepart Engineering the term technology is used to encompass knowledge, systems, equipment and machinery.
Committed to training our team, we make it our business to keep informed of the latest trends in the engineering industry. Our use of computerised production system -designed and developed specifically for Machinepart Engineering- enables us to operate in an effective and efficient way providing greater benefits for our clients.
Internet technology allows us to communicate quickly and clearly: clarity is of paramount importance when dealing with technical drawings and details or with urgent requirements.
Use of CAD/CAM enables us to work with our clients to produce intricate prototypes or standard stock items with precision and speed. We embrace technology and fully appreciate that if we wish to be progressive and remain competitive investment in this area must be ongoing.
We have continually invested in new machinery and have a wide variety of equipment aimed at providing accurate fast turn round on small to medium volume batch work. Our equipment includes:
Milling Machinery:
- 2 Haas MiniMillCentres. These full C.N.C. machining centres boast a 10 station automatic tool change system and with a working area of 730mm x 605mm and travel of 406mm (X-axis), 305mm (Y-axis) and 254mm (z-axis) and are capable of efficiently producing relatively small components.
- DPM 5000 – This machine manufactured in 2000 has full C.N.C. 3 axis control and with 1.5M of travel on the bed is capable of handling larger components.
- DPM 3000 – A smaller version of the DPM 5000 this machine was manufactured in 2001 and is just as versatile.
- Prototrack machining stations – To complement the above sophisticated C.N.C. machinery we have 4 off Prototrack machining stations which are C.N.Ccontrolled in 2 axis (X and Y) which are ideally suited to 1 offs and low volume batch work whilst maintaining the same degree of accuracy.
- Bridgeport Milling machines – In addition we have 3 off traditional milling machines fitted with digital read out devices to ensure fast production of precision products even on the simplest of components.
Lathes:
- Bridgeport EZ path – A fully C.N.C. controlled lathe cable of fast production of precision turned parts.
- Colchester Master 2500 – We have 2 off these traditional lathes which are fitted with digital read outs to ensure rapid, precision production.
- Ward 2a Capstan – Complementing these lathes and adding to our versatility we have a traditional capstan lathe.
Ancillary and finishing equipment:
- Starrett band saw.
- Super brown cut off saw.
- 3 off pillar drills.
- Vixen fine bead blasting cabinet.
- Vixen wash station.
- Orbital sanding machine.
- Fine straight graining machine.
- Flat bed linishing machine.
- TIG/MIG and stick welding equipment.
- All serviced by a full complement of machine tools and general engineering equipment.
We have a wide variety of Metrology equipment available both for workshop use and servicing our dedicated inspection room.
We are also able to provide a large range of surface finishes using our network of regularly used subcontractors.
